Freelancing opportunities for retirees
I was sent the following press release. I cannot vouch for any of these companies or their opportunities. So, this is being presented for informational purposes only.
Freelancing is an excellent option for retirees who want (or need) to continue working. Money earned from freelancing can be used to supplement traditional retirement income and workers have much greater control over when, where, and how they choose to work compared to a traditional office job. Opportunity is high in a wide variety of industries and retirees can choose to continue working in their primary career field or even try something new.
A FlexJobs’ survey recently found that freelancers are more likely to report enjoying work than non-freelancers. 63% of 1,300+ freelancer respondents report working because they enjoy it, citing their enjoyment as a primary reason why they want and/or need to work, second only to paying for basic necessities (77%). This is compared with 54% of the 4,000 non-freelance survey respondents saying they work because they enjoy it, their 5th top reason to work. Additional income, high work satisfaction rate, lots of flexibility - what's not to love about freelancing in retirement?
