  1. Your photos are lovely, Bob. Grand Teton is one of Alan's favorite places and Zion is one of mine. But I'm not familiar with Seven Falls State Park in Oregon and now I'm intrigued. I think I'll have to check that one out. Then, it's off to find my traveling shoes! Thanks for the day brightener - we have a winter storm rolling in this weekend, so the cheerful thoughts are very much appreciated.

    1. I had the caption wrong, Mary. It is actually Silver Falls State Park, near Salem, Oregon, but there are seven falls you can hike to, walk behind, or on top of. It is quite spectacular.

    2. I did check out Silver Falls online today and you're right, Bob, it is beautiful, and it definitely looks like a Park we'd enjoy. I'm putting it in my Trip Notes for our next visit to Oregon. Thanks for the inspiration - your pics are gorgeous!

  2. Betty needs to put together a travel calendar. I would buy it! I've only traveled to the Oregon coast once. Her pictures urge me to return. Thank you for brightening a gloomy winter day in Delaware.

  3. You've been a shutterbug for quite a few years, eh? Have you sold any of your work? Your photos make me want to go buy a camera instead of counting on my phone for recording memories!

    1. We have close to 90,000 photos in all over at least a 40 year period. Thank goodness for digital storage and the ability to scan old analog photos into digital versions.

All of these photos were taken with a Nikon or Canon digital camera. Like most of the world Betty has transitioned to using her smartphone and photo-editing software instead of having to carry a camera, worry about battery charges, and SD cards.

But, we have more than enough using a standalone camera to produce travel books or calendars, as suggested by Janette. A new project pf mine is to put together a coffee table book of photos from our various RV travels.

  4. Gorgeous! Where was that second Idaho waterfall photo taken? I believe the first one was Shoshone Falls, right?

    1. I should not rely on just my memory anymore. Your questions caused me to go back to the original photos on a hard drive to find out where two waterfall pictures were taken. The first was at Upper Mesa Falls near Dillon, Idaho. The second isn't in Idaho. It is in a park west of Sisters, Oregon.

Sorry for the inaccurate labels, but thanks for prompting me to go back through that fabulous road trip to get the proper locations.

    2. Thanks for checking. Just for clarity, Dillon is in Montana. :-) I looked up Upper Mesa Falls, which is near Ashton, ID. Although I live in Idaho, I've never been there. We go to Sisters often so I wonder if that waterfall is on the Metolius, along one of my favorite trails. Will have to check it out.

    1. We have some beautiful pictures of Tennessee and North Carolina from our final RV trip. But, we never made it farther north, though growing up in Philly and South Jersey, I am aware of many incredible areas the the Mid Atlantic region. And, don't even get me started on upstate New York and New England....so pretty.

    1. We visited the area of Idaho just across the border of Wyoming from the Grand Tetons. We also spent time in Idaho Falls, Boise, and Coeur D'ALene way up in the panhandle not far from the Canadian border. The lake there and the setting are spectacular.

  8. Wonderful pictures! I agree that Betty could make a gorgeous calendar from her photos. And for the record, we still use wall calendars - and I choose them based on the pictures. :-)

So many beautiful places in this country of ours. We have a trip to Sedona planned later in the spring and cannot wait. It's -5 degrees here this morning and all white. That said, the cold is often accompanied by bright sunshine, so it's a welcome change from the overcast gray we've seen most of January.

    1. Sedona is quite spectacular. It is about 2 hours north of us, making it close enough for at least one visit a year just to see the rocks. BTW, we are in the low 70's today!
